MEET DON

A PARKER VISION FOR PARKER WATER

Don Langley has served on the Parker Water Board for the past three years, playing a key role in decisions including the Platte Valley Partnership, setting affordable rates, and the 'growth pays for growth' governance principle.

Prior to joining the PWSD Board, he served as a volunteer on the Citizens Water Advisory Committee for Aurora Water and has served on various Metro District boards and authorities. In 2013, Don retired as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W). He was responsible for the company's research and development operations, including advanced clean-coal technology development, oversight of R&D for small modular nuclear reactors, and other technology commercialization efforts. He also held positions in field engineering and construction, project management, manufacturing, and operations.

Don has a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master's of Business Administration from Ashland University. He also holds a Professional Energy Certificate from the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

He and his wife, Sandy, moved to Parker five years ago and live in the Idyllwilde community. They have two grown sons and two Shetland Sheepdogs with whom they love spending time and hiking.
